The work

Our crews saw-cut the damaged areas of the balcony slabs, broke the concrete out to expose and treat the reinforcing steel, and patched the repairs flush.

The repaired balconies were finished with a waterproof coating, and the old railings were replaced.

The salt-stained privacy panels were skim-coated, primed and repainted.

How the job ran

Residents stayed in the building throughout. Crews worked from boom lifts in phases and finished within one construction season.

How balcony repairs run

While a balcony is being repaired it is closed, residents clear their belongings from it beforehand, and noisy work is kept to set hours.

How long a programme takes depends on the work and the number of drops, a drop being one vertical line of balconies.

Localized concrete repairs take weeks and slab replacements and large scopes take months.
